Getting started

DDownload is a European cloud storage service. You can securely store files, share them with others and download them from anywhere in the world. Our infrastructure runs on four continents and is built for speed, reliability and privacy.
No, you don't need an account for basic downloads. If you have a link to a shared file, you can download it right away. For faster speeds, resuming interrupted downloads and parallel downloads, we recommend an Ultimate account.
Click "Sign up" in the top right, enter your email address and a strong password, then confirm your email. Registration is free and takes less than a minute.
Open the download link you received. On the download page you'll see the file name, size and a download button. Ultimate users start the download instantly at full speed. Free users wait a short timer and can then trigger the download.
Yes. You can download files without an account and without any cost. Free users have a speed limit, short waiting times between downloads and cannot download multiple files in parallel. If you want more speed and convenience, Ultimate is the way to go.

Ultimate is available as a monthly subscription from €4.99 per month, or as an annual subscription with a lower monthly price. See exact pricing and available durations on our Ultimate page.
Go to the Ultimate page, pick your preferred plan, choose a payment method and complete checkout. After a successful payment, Ultimate is active immediately and you benefit from all features right away.
Yes. The monthly subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period so your Ultimate access isn't interrupted. You can disable auto-renewal anytime in your dashboard under "My Account". For one-time payments (e.g. crypto), there is no auto-renewal.
Log in, open your dashboard and go to "My Account". There you'll find your active subscription and can disable auto-renewal with one click. Your Ultimate status stays active until the end of the already-paid period. You won't be charged again after cancelling.
Yes. Before every renewal you receive an email with the renewal date and a direct link to manage your subscription. That way you always stay in control.
When your Ultimate subscription expires, your account is downgraded to the free tier. Your stored files stay available at first, but are subject to the free-account limits again. We recommend backing up important files locally before cancelling.
Within the legal withdrawal period you can withdraw from the contract if you haven't actively used the service yet. For technical issues or unwanted auto-renewals please contact our help desk, we review every case individually and fairly.
Yes. You can end your subscription anytime and sign up for a new one with the desired duration. If you still have active Ultimate, it runs until the end of the paid period and is then seamlessly replaced by the new plan.

Yes. All payments go through PCI-DSS compliant payment providers. We never store full credit card data on our servers. All traffic is TLS encrypted.
  • Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay: instant activation
  • PayPal / Amazon Pay: instant activation
  • Cryptocurrency: 10 to 60 minutes, depending on network confirmations
  • Bank transfer: 1 to 3 business days
Please log out and log back in to refresh your status. For crypto payments, wait for network confirmations. If Ultimate still isn't showing after 60 minutes, open a help desk ticket with your transaction ID and we'll sort it out quickly.
After every successful payment you automatically receive a confirmation email with payment details. In your dashboard under "My Account" you also find a complete payment history with all completed transactions.

Downloads & files

Free users have a speed limit. With an Ultimate account you get the full available speed. If you already have Ultimate and still see slow downloads, check your internet connection and try a download manager like JDownloader.
Yes, Ultimate users can resume downloads any time the connection drops. Free users need to start over. For large files we recommend a download manager like JDownloader.
Yes, with an Ultimate account you can run multiple downloads in parallel. Free users can only download one file at a time.
DDownload is compatible with most popular download managers like JDownloader, Internet Download Manager and Free Download Manager. For full speed you need an Ultimate account, since free users have to walk through the download page manually.
Ultimate accounts can keep their files indefinitely as long as the subscription is active. Files from free or inactive accounts are removed automatically after longer periods of inactivity. Exact terms are in our Terms of Service.
A file can be unavailable for several reasons: it was deleted by the owner, expired due to inactivity, was removed after a valid DMCA request, or the URL is mistyped. Please double-check the link with the sender.
For supported video formats we offer preview playback right in the browser, no need to download first. It's available for Ultimate users and works in all modern browsers.

Account & security

Log in, open your dashboard and go to "My Account". In the security section you can change your password any time. Pick a strong, unique password with at least 12 characters.
Click "Forgot password" in the login dialog and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link within a few minutes. If the email doesn't arrive, please check your spam folder.
In your dashboard under "My Account" you'll find the 2FA section. We currently offer email-based two-factor authentication. When enabled, an additional code is sent to your email address at every login and must be entered within a few minutes.
In your dashboard under "My Account", in the security section, you'll find the option to delete your account. After confirmation, your personal data is removed according to our privacy policy. All your files are permanently deleted as well.
In your dashboard under "My Account" you'll find an overview of recent logins with IP address, device and time. If you spot a session you don't recognise, change your password immediately and contact support.
We only store the data needed to run the service: your email address, a hashed password, session data and payment data to manage your subscription. Full details are in our privacy policy. We never share user data with third parties.

Technical

We support all modern browsers in current versions: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and Brave. On mobile devices we also work with the mobile versions of these browsers.
First check your internet connection. Clear your browser cache or try a different browser. If you use a download manager, restart the download fresh. If the issue persists, please open a ticket with the file URL on the help desk.
First, check your email address and password are entered correctly. If you enabled two-factor authentication, wait for the email code. Also look out for browser extensions like password managers that can misbehave. For persistent issues, clearing cookies or trying another browser usually helps.
We don't offer a native app at the moment. Our website is fully responsive and works in every mobile browser. You can also save the page as a bookmark on your home screen.
